Then We gave you a chance to defeat them back. And We reinforced you with wealth, sons, and made you more numerous in population.
Among Judah's nation, a few people remained who were commanding Good and forbidding evil. Gradually they succeded to bring the people into the Straightpath. During B.C.E. 539, Cyrus invaded Babylonia. Under his rule, the Children of Israel were allowed to return to their nations and live there. Then in B.C.E 522 under the kingdom of Darius, Baithul Muqadis was reconstructed and the Children of Israel got it back.
Then in B.C.E 458, Prophet Uzair (Ezra) was deputed and the King Artaxerxes gave him a letter as told in verses Ezra 7: 25-26: “And you, Ezra, by the wisdom of your Lord, which you possess, appoint magistrates and judges to administer justice to all the people of Trans-Euphrates—all who know the laws of your Lord. And you are to teach anyone who doesn’t know them. Whoever does not obey the law of your Lord and the law of the king must surely be punished by death, banishment, confiscation of property or imprisonment”. But Uzair was rejected by the people and they made another monument for substituting the Baithul Muqadis.
The fall of Persian Emperorship and domination of Greek Emperorship under Alexander affected the Children of Israel badly. Greek hated the Children of Israel. So they suppressed them and forced their law and orders upon them. Thus some of the Jews accepted the Greek culture whereas the other remained in their way of life. Then in B.C.E 175, Antiochus Epimanes completely forced the Jews to accept the Greek culture. He ordered to kill the Jews who follow the Sabbath laws and do circumcision of their sons. But some of the Jews started a revolution under the Makabi organization who followed the laws and regulations preached by Prophet Ezra. Gradually, they grow stronger and defeated the Greeks and established a kingdom under the dos and don’ts of the Lord’s Book. Thus they recovered not only the two nations but a major portion of Philistines also. This kingdom existed until B.C.E 67.
